VISITS, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS


With the objective of widening the opportunities of information, networking and get- together, more events have been organized for 2006 than for any previous SURFAIR conference

14th JUNE

A/ VISITS OF AIRBUS PLANTS

Morning at 11.00: Hamburg installations (100 invitations)


The headquarters of Airbus Deutschland is the largest site in Germany, with nearly 10 000 people. It is the place for the final assembly for most of the A320 family. The cabins interiors of A300/310 and A320 family are fitted here and painted ready for final delivery. Hamburg will carry out the complete interior furnishing of the A380 cabins and painting of the aircraft.

Afternoon at 14.00: Bremen installations (60 invitations)


Bremen is the second largest Airbus site in Germany, with more than 3000 employees. It is where the whole process chain for wing high lift is established: project office, technology engineering, flight physics, system engineering, structure development, verification tests, structural assembly and wing equipping.

B/ VISIT OF IFAM – Fraunhofer Institut für Fertigunstechnik und Materialforschung

Afternoon at 16.30: (30 invitations)


IFAM, the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Applied Materials Research in Bremen comprises a section dedicated to "Bonding Technology and Surfaces", performing research and development in all areas of adhesive bonding technology, complemented by plasma technology, paint/lacquer technology, electrochemistry, molecular modelling, adhesion and interface research.

A guided tour of about 1.30 hr will provide the participants with general information about the institute and visits of laboratories for paint technology, plasma technolgy and surface analysis.
